River and sea creatures
It is a strange view to see such a new and modern aquarium in the historical lands of Kyoto. Many animals such as penguins, dolphins, and giant salamanders can be seen at the museum.
The enormous water tank
The large tank is 6m high and can be seen from both the 1st and 2nd floor. Looking from the small fish-eye lens, you can enjoy the tank as if you were inside it.
Popular small animals
The garden eel which is a fish that usually lives in the sea is popular for its unique thin body which pokes out from under the sand.
The dancing jellyfish
The water jelly is known for its beautifulness that floats in the water, and people gather to watch the water jelly and cannot take their eyes off it. There are many other kinds of jellyfish and people are attracted to their mysterious shapes and colors.
Kyoto's aquarium
The dolphin show is something you must watch. Watching the dolphin show with the temples, To-ji and Gojyu-no-to in the background is something unique to Kyoto. These temples are registered as a world heritage and cannot be seen anywhere else.
