"Okinawa-no-kaze" is a shop only sells items made by the artists living in Okinawa. Surprisingly, they handle works collected from over 40 artists.
Original Ryukyu canvas items
"Ryukyu Hanpu" is the original brand of items made with Ryukyu canvas from "Okinawa-no-kaze". Bags are simply designed and very practical. Canvas is a very tough material, and of course, so does the items made with them.
Vivid and colorful bingata style Ryukyu canvas
This is a collaborated work with a bingata artist Arakaki Yuka and Ryukyu canvas. Arakaki Yuka is the bingata artist represents Okinawa. She won the first prize in "Ryugin Bingata design contest" for consecutive two years, then in the Japan Art organization (Nitten) and Nihon-shinkogei-ten (Japan new crafts exhibition) for three years in a row.
A lot to see- yachimuns and the other items
Other than the bags, heart warming handmade yachimuns(potteries), bingata coasters, book covers, handkerchiefs, T shirts, aroma candles and felt items... So many Okinawa colored handmade items are available.
Pretty general items fulfills your heart
This is the shisa toy building blocks "Tsumiki-sa", made by an artist called "limota". How about getting some of them and decorate your room with them in a row? If you are visiting Kokusai-dori Street, you cannot miss "Okinawa-no-kaze".
